I really am not sure where this year has gone, but it certainly has gone.
This week I tried my best not to buy things, and I can tell you Sir and/or Madam, I did not do very well.
All of this Black Friday nonsense hasn’t helped, and the damage will be ongoing, I’m sure.
After having watched the new Guillermo Del Toro Frankenstein on Netflix, I continued my Frankenstein collection. Revenge of Frankenstein, the second Hammer Horror movie featuring the Monster arrived this week. And I’m waiting on another the Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell Collectors Edition has now arrived too.
I also have had my eye on the 4k steelbook for Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which is now taking up pride of place on my shelf.
The Absolute Batman Annual arrived yesterday and was immediately read. Great work from Daniel Warren Johnson and James Harren. Two exciting, fun stories. Their art styles are full of energy and excitement.
Absolute Green Lantern #8 also arrived and it was a great first issue for the second arc. I need to reread the first 7 but my interest had been waning and I considered cancelling. 8 has reinvigorated my interest!
And for something not bought this week but finally digested, I finished Bob Mortimer’s Hotel Avocado. I would recommend it if you’re looking for something easy to breeze through, but it’ll be nigh on pointless if you haven’t read The Satsuma Complex. Not a great deal happens in Avocado, if I’m honest. But it’s not a dreadful thing, as I enjoyed following the characters post-Satsuma. It starts with a relatively long but laid back recap woven into the story, which despite carrying straight on from one book to the other, didn’t feel repetitive.
On top of spending money and reading, I also managed a few little writes, and I’m delving quite deeply now into the Lycan/Vampyr book. It’s mostly world building and plot points but I’m enjoying it develop, and I’m hoping to write something more solid soon for sharing.

P.S. I’ll be covering my sudden Baldur’s Gate obsession as well as my return to Cult of The Lamb in other posts soon!
